Hemp For Victory?

One may find themselves absorbed in the ideology that hemp is a dangerous substance with life altering side effects. Although the female bud is used recreationally for consumption, hemp is not just the mind altering substance your parents warned you about. In fact, hemp could pose as a solution to many of the planet's largest problems such as deforestation, pollution, and pharmaceutical addiction to name a few. This means that industrial hemp production could save millions of trees, eliminate the need for oil, and also serve many benefits medicinally that are currently addressed with harmful prescription drugs.
Although Wede Clothing Co. doesn't fall into these categories, hemp could also serve a valuable role in the clothing industry. Currently, cotton is the main fiber used in clothing manufacturing. However, when compared alongside hemp fibers you find an interesting matchup. Not only does hemp have a smaller environmental footprint using less pesticides, water and no herbicides to grow; it also produces more fibers per acre (1500 lbs vs 500 lbs). In addition, hemp based clothing is stronger, more absorbent, more durable, and better insulated than cotton based clothing. So why isn't every clothing company producing hemp based clothing?
The answer lies in the lack of hemp producers worldwide. Therefore, producing hemp based clothing is an expensive process, which would raise the price of clothing. With that being said, many large clothing manufacturers are sticking with cotton to keep prices lower and profits higher.
